Border Land School Division Trustees have made it a priority to interact more with educational stakeholders. On April 28, 2010 parents, students, community members and teachers from Sprague had an opportunity to provide the Board with feedback on two key questions.
- What is the school system doing well?
- What are things that we should be doing to improve the school system.
The following is the information that was compiled from this event. This information will be used for future planning purposes.

Question #1: What is the school system doing well?
Group 1
- Getting parents involved "What I say is important"
- Enrichment programs - Inclusive Education ( tailor learning to students needs)
- Special needs students included
- Assessment for Learning
- Report cards, language is consistent
- Communication between students, teachers, parents
- Teachers are learning
- 3-way conferences-students reflections on their learning
- Recess
- Programs - Letter Land (learning letters)
- Choices for students
- Teaching to many levels
- Teachers let us know when we're doing well
- Comfort between all levels of the division (Students, Staff, Parents, Board, Community)
- Teacher P.D. is very important

- Music and arts programs
- Senior Years:
- grades given mean the student is done with that learning, rather than being
supported by the teacher to learn as much as they can
- Percentage age mark doesn't show as much caring or challenge
- Elementary students are more passionate about their learning?
- Awards/rewards for doing well
- Intrinsic motivation - how can senior years students be more like early years
students? How to get "back" to "I like to learn"
